Investcorp is pleased to announce its philanthropic cooperation with the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation in Abu Dhabi.
Inaugurated in March 2024, the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation is the first private art foundation established in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island Cultural District.
Located in the vicinity of the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum, the striking all-white building is home to the private collection of philanthropist and art patron Bassam Said Freiha. It contextualizes Orientalist paintings and showcases the complex and evolving cultural dialogue between the East and West.
The Foundation also offers artist workshops, tours, performances and lectures on different aspects of Middle East and Orient artwork, and hosts guest exhibitions.
Yusef Al Yusef, Global Head of Distribution at Investcorp, said: “It is with great pride that we partner with the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation to contribute to their philanthropic objectives. At Investcorp, we believe that the arts have a significant role to play in the prosperity of the GCC, with creativity and innovation being key drivers of economic growth and societal wellbeing. We are committed to supporting this wonderful Abu Dhabi institution in showcasing marvelous pieces that enrich the social fabric of the Emirate.”
Bassam Said Freiha, Founder of Bassam Freiha Art Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to count Investcorp as part of our Foundation’s benefactors following our inauguration in March 2024. Our mission is to inspire new generations, nurture emerging talent and to encourage collectors to display privately owned artwork through curated exhibitions. Alongside Investcorp’s generous support, we aim to deliver on our mission, supporting local artists and championing regional talent.”
