For four years, there has been one rule at Roland Garros: Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia. Four straight titles in Paris, the latest secured today in a packed Philippe-Chatrier (81,000 fans in a week) after an extraordinary match. The world number ones immediately bounced back from their early elimination in Madrid, claiming their 40th Premier Padel title as a pair. If the match against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan was another epic battle, Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero dominated the women’s final, winning their third tournament of 2026 after Riyadh and Valencia (their first Major), conceding just two games to Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo, who nevertheless deserve great credit for reaching their first Major final in only their fourth tournament together.

MEN Coello and Tapia won the first set with a break at 5-3 but, after losing the second 6-4, found themselves a break down in the deciding set. The world number ones produced an extraordinary response, breaking Chingotto and Galan as they served for the match before going on to prevail in a dominant tie-break, winning it 7-1. The 6-3 4-6 7-6 victory gives Coello and Tapia their 27th title in 40 editions of what has become the biggest rivalry in modern world padel.

WOMEN While the men’s final required a third-set tie-break, the women’s final was a one-sided affair: third seeds Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero, who were also finalists in Rome, defeated Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo 6-2 6-0 in one hour and 11 minutes. A match without a story from the first point to the last. “I couldn’t have chosen a better way to win my first Major”, said Ustero, who had been forced to miss the Malaga and Pretoria tournaments through injury. “We deserve this title for what we are doing this season. We played a perfect final”. “When Andrea suffered her injury, we were playing at a good level, but that’s part of sport,” added Sanchez. “Winning here, on a court like Philippe-Chatrier, while playing at our best level, is really special. Now it’s time to celebrate and then think about the next tournaments”.

The 2026 Premier Padel season will continue with three consecutive tournaments: action resumes in two weeks with the Rotterdam P2, followed by the Düsseldorf P2 and the Milan P1.
