Doha, Qatar – 09 May 2026: Msheireb Properties has received four Communitas Awards, underlining its pioneering role as a regional leader in smart, sustainable urban development and recognising its approach to corporate social responsibility through strategic partnerships spanning education, technology, healthcare, inclusivity, and youth development.

The Communitas Awards, an international initiative, recognises organisations that go beyond business objectives to deliver social, environmental, and economic value. This marks Msheireb Properties’ second major recognition, following its success at the SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement & Leadership) Business Sustainability Awards in February earlier this year.

    Ethical and Environmental Responsibility Achievements

Msheireb Properties won three sustainability awards, demonstrating its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint. Initiatives highlighted include the Green Roofs Project, which cools urban spaces by improving energy efficiency, managing stormwater, and supporting biodiversity, as well as the Liquid3 bioreactor, which captures carbon dioxide and airborne pollutants far faster than conventional trees. Msheireb Downtown Doha is fully sustainable, with all buildings either Gold or Platinum LEED-certified, accumulating 32 Platinum certificates and 42 Gold certificates

The fourth award, for Excellence in Community Service, recognised Msheireb Museums as a dynamic platform for community engagement and cultural dialogue. The four historic houses of Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House, and Radwani House have been transformed into a vibrant cultural destination that extends beyond traditional museum displays, serving as a centre for community collaboration, social dialogue, and the preservation of Qatar’s national narrative.

Through a strategic ecosystem of community partnerships, Msheireb Museums has engaged thousands of community members by positioning heritage as a living, accessible, and evolving experience. In the past year alone, the Museums hosted more than 25 events developed in collaboration with local and international partners, including youth summits, collaborations with government entities and embassies, and science cafs.

Eng. Ali Al Kuwari, CEO of Msheireb Properties, said: ‘Winning four Communitas Awards across sustainability and community service reflects the dual commitment that defines Msheireb Properties. In Msheireb Downtown Doha, we built a city where environmental responsibility is embedded in every structure, and in Msheireb Museums, we created a living platform where heritage fuels dialogue and strengthens community bonds. Together, they represent a single vision: that sustainable urban development and cultural preservation are not parallel pursuits but inseparable ones. This international recognition affirms the strength of that vision, and deepens our resolve to advance it as a model that resonates well beyond Qatar.’

Established in 2010, the Communitas Awards is an international initiative that recognises businesses, organisations, and individuals committed to creating a positive impact within their communities.
