Summer in Qatar is increasingly defined by experiences that extend beyond indoor spaces. Across the country, a growing number of outdoor destinations have been thoughtfully designed to enhance open-air living, allowing residents and visitors to continue enjoying vibrant public spaces throughout the season. From waterfront promenades and cultural landmarks to lifestyle districts and dining destinations, these spaces combine innovative cooling solutions with dynamic environments, making it possible to gather, stroll and dine outdoors year-round.

Located off the coast of The Pearl Island, Gewan Island offers a contemporary waterfront setting featuring cooled outdoor walkways, public spaces and a growing collection of retail and dining outlets. Among its most distinctive attractions is Crystal Walk, which holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest outdoor air-conditioned mall, spanning 7,360 square metres. Featuring more than 100 retail and dining experiences alongside a striking crystal installation extending over one kilometre, the destination combines innovative design, advanced cooling technology and waterfront surroundings to create an appealing setting for leisurely walks and relaxed evenings by the water.

Situated in the developing hub of Rawdat Al Hamama, Centro serves as a vibrant outdoor social and lifestyle destination. This modern precinct brings together cafs, restaurants, wellness facilities and retail experiences within an open-air, climate-controlled setting. Its pedestrian-friendly design encourages visitors to explore the district comfortably throughout the summer season, making it a growing lifestyle hub for the local community.

Katara Cultural Village brings together arts, culture and leisure in one of Qatar’s most recognisable destinations. Within the cultural village, 21 High St combines luxury retail, dining and public spaces enhanced by advanced outdoor cooling technology. This innovation allows visitors and residents to explore galleries, public art installations, cafs and cultural landmarks year-round while enjoying views of the Arabian Gulf.

Located in Lusail City, Place Vendme extends beyond its retail offering to provide expansive outdoor spaces where classical architecture, water features and landscaped surroundings create an enjoyable setting for afternoon and evening outings. The destination’s outdoor promenades surrounding the canal and fountain attractions feature integrated cooling systems, allowing visitors to experience the striking outdoor environment and fountain displays while enjoying a diverse selection of canal-side dining options.

Known for its elegant European-inspired design and refined atmosphere, Al Hazm combines premium retail experiences with shaded, climate-controlled outdoor spaces. Thoughtfully designed public areas, Al Hazm’s courtyards, walkways and cafs provide a sophisticated setting for dining, shopping and social gatherings.

Located in the Al Waab district, West Walk has established itself as a popular lifestyle destination. Its outdoor climate-controlled streets are lined with cafs, restaurants, retail outlets and community spaces, creating a vibrant environment for residents and visitors alike. Designed with urban walkability in mind, the district offers a convenient setting to meet, dine and spend time outdoors throughout the summer months.

Tornado Dune Plaza provides a contemporary outdoor setting that brings together dining, entertainment and leisure experiences within a cooled environment. Located in Doha’s West Bay district, its climate-controlled outdoor seating areas and relaxed atmosphere make it a popular option for professionals, families and groups seeking a comfortable open-air setting.

Stretching through the heart of Lusail City, Lusail Boulevard offers wide pedestrian avenues enhanced by state-of-the-art outdoor cooling technology. Home to a growing mix of international cafs, restaurants and retail concepts, the boulevard is a dynamic gathering place that seamlessly combines urban energy, community events and seasonal activations with a comfortable outdoor experience.

By combining advanced cooling technologies with vibrant public spaces, these destinations offer residents new ways to discover neighbourhoods, connect with friends and family, and enjoy the country’s diverse lifestyle, dining and cultural offerings throughout the year.

In addition to these destinations, visitors and residents can also enjoy the Hala Summer 2026 programme, which runs until the end of September and brings together a rich calendar of entertainment, hospitality and leisure experiences across the country. Alongside initiatives such as Kids Go Free, the programme adds to the variety of experiences available for families, friends and couples throughout the summer season.
