Doha, Qatar, 23 April 2026 – King’s College Doha proudly supported the Doha Rugby Football Club (DRFC) annual Chairman’s Day, held on Friday 17th April, as part of its ongoing partnership with the club’s Minis and Youth section.

Led by Iain Driscoll, Deputy Head (Enrichment and Wellbeing), and supported by the school’s Senior Leadership Team, PE department and wider teaching staff, the day reflected the strength of collaboration between the school and one of Qatar’s most established community sports clubs.

The much-anticipated event brought together more than 400 children aged 3 to 18 from across Doha for a vibrant club-wide mini and youth rugby tournament. Across the day, young players took part in a series of intra-club matches, showcasing teamwork, resilience and a shared love of the game in a spirited and inclusive environment.

Every participant was recognised for their efforts, with each player receiving individual acknowledgement, including personalised congratulatory messages from King’s College Doha Principal, Kate Jackson. Presentations took place on stage throughout the day, with each age group celebrated by their respective team managers, creating a strong sense of achievement and community pride.

Kate Jackson, Principal of King’s College Doha, said: “Chairman’s Day is a wonderful celebration of everything that makes this partnership so meaningful. To see so many young people coming together, supporting one another and taking pride in their achievements is incredibly special. At King’s College Doha, we believe strongly in the role sport plays in shaping confident, resilient and well-rounded individuals, and we are proud to stand alongside Doha Rugby Football Club in nurturing these qualities in every player.”

Tim Newnham, Chairman of Doha Rugby Football Club, added: “Chairman’s Day is always a highlight of the season, and this year was no exception. The support from King’s College Doha continues to make a real difference to our Minis and Youth section, helping us create opportunities for more children to get involved, develop their skills and, most importantly, enjoy the game. It’s a partnership built on shared values, and days like this truly bring that to life.”

The event forms part of the wider partnership between King’s College Doha and DRFC, which is rooted in a shared commitment to developing young people both on and off the field. By supporting grassroots sport and creating opportunities for participation at every level, the collaboration continues to strengthen pathways for youth development across Doha.

Doha – July 21, 2026: An advanced, minimally invasive, incisionless procedure for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) was the topic for discussion at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar’s (WCM-Q) Grand Rounds Live Webinar Series. The procedure, called transoral endoscopic fundoplication (TIF), involves passing an endoscope and a specialized probe down the patient’s throat into the stomach in order to repair the valve between the esophagus and the stomach, thus preventing acid reflux.
