Doha, Qatar – January 2026 – Snoonu, Qatar’s leading technology company and multi-vertical super app, has successfully concluded its first-ever Snoonu Hackathon, uniting more than 550 university students and fresh graduates from across Qatar for three days of hands-on learning, collaboration, and real-world innovation.

Participants formed cross-university teams to develop solutions inspired by Snoonu’s live digital ecosystem, tackling challenges across logistics, customer experience, multi-vertical growth, and new business innovation. Designed as a learning-first experience, the hackathon reflected Snoonu’s commitment to nurturing local talent and supporting the next generation of technology builders.

Throughout the event, students worked closely with Snoonu’s product, engineering, and executive leaders, gaining direct exposure to how large-scale technology platforms are built and scaled. More than 10 expert-led workshops provided practical insights into real-world product development, while teams transformed ideas into working prototypes under time-bound conditions.

“Snoonu started as a university project, and this hackathon reflects our strong belief in young talent,” said Hamad Al Hajri, Founder & CEO of Snoonu. “We wanted students to feel challenged and supported, and to see that they can build technology with real impact.”

The hackathon was supported by Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), reinforcing a shared commitment to strengthening Qatar’s innovation ecosystem and bridging the gap between education and industry.

Winning teams received cash prizes totaling QAR 100,000, Web Summit (Qatar 2026) tickets, and opportunities for continued mentorship and potential career pathways at Snoonu.

Beyond awards, participants gained practical experience, confidence, and exposure to real-world problem-solving inside one of Qatar’s leading homegrown technology companies.

Through its inaugural hackathon, Snoonu reaffirmed its long-term commitment to developing local talent and supporting Qatar’s knowledge-based economy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
