Doha, Qatar – 3 September 2026 – Qatar Polo Club is pleased to announce that Polo AlMarsa was honoured with seven awards, including four Gold titles, at the Qatar Event Show Awards Ceremony 2026, held last night at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The awards celebrate the inaugural 2025 edition of Polo AlMarsa, Qatar’s first waterfront polo tournament, staged at Old Doha Port in December 2025.
Polo AlMarsa received the following awards:
- Gold – Best Public Event and Festival
- Gold – Best Sports Event
- Gold – Best Community Event
- Gold – Best Consumer Event, Consumer Brand Launch
- Silver – Best Consumer Event
- Bronze – Best Public Event & Festival
- Bronze – Best Sports Event

Polo AlMarsa made its debut in December 2025 as Qatar’s first-ever waterfront polo tournament, staged over three days at the historic Old Doha Port. The inaugural edition brought together international players from Chile, Argentina and Qatar for four championship cups, welcoming over 5,000 attendees across the event, including high-profile guests, families, sports enthusiasts and members of the international polo community.
The event generated exceptional results in its first year and has quickly established itself as a fixture on Qatar’s premier events calendar. Polo AlMarsa was widely praised by attendees for its organisation, hospitality and family-friendly atmosphere. Building on this success, Polo AlMarsa returns in December 2026 with an expanded programme, including the debut of Qatar’s first female polo team.
